Stabilization Expansive Clayey with Nano-Lime to Reduce Environmental Impact

چکیده

For years, geotechnical engineers have been concerned about expansive soils. Expansive soils are characterized by large volumetric changes related to variations in moisture content. Variations soil water content may take place naturally during seasonal or maybe manmade caused dewatering activities. The quantity of shrinkage and swell is influenced numerous parameters, including the minerals clay soil, content, dry density, climate change. In most countries, structures, pavements buildings, damaged as a result this shrinkage/swelling. Several ground improvement techniques available for stabilizing modify its engineering performance. These methods include replacement, mixing with chemical additives, reinforcement. present study expressions effect nano-lime (i.e., 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0, 2.0 3.0%), lime (1, 3, 5, 8, 10%), additive improve clayey illite kaolinite). were investigated using Atterberg’s limits tests. Atterberg screening significant proportion additional lime. results show that less amount (1% 2% kaolinite respectively) decreased plastic limit, while it was reported 8% 5% respectively. conclusion, (1-2%) able parameters.

Feeding Management to Reduce the Environmental Impact of Dairy Farms

Probably no region of the U.S. has experienced greater attention to impact of agriculture on our environment than Florida. Dr. Jack Van Horn, retired from the University of Florida, was an early advocate of research to demonstrate how dairy production could be good stewards of the environment through improved cropping practices and nutritional management. In recent years the Chesapeake Bay has ...

The Effect of Rice Husk Ash on Mechanical Properties of Clayey Soils Stabilized with Lime in the Presence of Sulphate

Geotechnical engineers, in many cases face with low strength or high swelling potential of clayey soils. Stabilization methods are used to improve the mechanical properties of this type of soils. Lime and cement are the most popular materials used in chemical stabilization of clayey soils. If sulphate exists in the stabilized clayey soil with lime, or if soil is exposed to sulphates, problems s...

The impact of sound land use management to reduce runoff

The study aimed to determine the impact of sound land use management to the runoff in Kabuntalan, Maguindanao in Tamontaka river basin. This was done through simulation and the comparison of the three land cover scenarios such as 2015 land cover, 2025 projected land cover and desired land use to determine its difference in terms of runoff. Hydrologic Engineering Center-Hydrologic Modeling Syste...
